about
Relativity is a song about taking a chance despite overwhelming doubt. It explores the feeling of time stretching out before a decision is made to move forward in a relationship, when you know that things can't remain as they are. The instrumental reflects this theme. Unlikely parts combine to reflect a sense of dreamy confusion and hesitation and at times come together solidly to form a cohesive and self assured idea.
lyrics
Her light comes in waves
As we stumble in the street
Time is moving slow,
But I somehow find my feet
Now I can't look the other way
I can't turn another page
Let me wait another day
Are we making it count?
Well I'll count it
Will I figure this out?
I doubt it
Maybe this shot will fall in
It just feels too good to be fallin'
So many times she'd shown me
A reflection I'd not seen
I could not mark the edges
That separate herself from me
Now I can't look the other way
I can't turn another page
Let me wait another day
Are we making it count?
Well I'll count it
Will i figure this out?
I doubt it
One of these shots will fall in
It just feels too good to be fallin'
I know your patience might run thin
Stare at my feet and I'm stallin'
Maybe one of these shots will fall in
It just feels too good to be fallin'
Are we making it count?
(How can I-)
Well I'll count it
(How can I do this any longer?)
Will I figure this out?
I doubt it
(I'm getting weak, you're getting stronger)
Maybe this shot will fall in
(I'm losing sleep, you're sleeping longer)
It just feels too good to be fallin'
